Wisdom Tooth pulled!

February 3rd, 2010

Ouchie.. I got my Wisdom tooth pulled on Monday night.. Well that phrase “its like pulling teeth” usually means very difficult extraction.. Well they should see my dentist… I swear he used a mini crowbar and just shot me to hell with that Novocaine stuff and then just jammed that sucker in there and pulled the tooth out!!!! Blood everywhere! It bled for like the next 12 – 16 hours and even now, 2 days later, it still hurts. All I taste is dried blood now. I still cant eat really solid foods and not to mention he busted my lips up pretty good which were pretty swollen on the inside. Yesterday I was a bloody drooling mess, and I talked with a lisp. I couldnt even blow my nose or swallow since it hurt soooo much! ARRGGGHHHh and i have to get another tooth taken out at the end of the month! At least I know i heal pretty fast considering the pain now is very dull up to a moderate level.

The only good thing which is not an absolute great thing considering I am trying to watch my weight, is that Ice cream is the best thing for me to eat right now since its very soothing!

By the way, eating and drinking only on one side of your mouth really really really really sucks!

Weekend Update

February 1st, 2010

Another whirlwind weekend has come and go, although some events will be much harder to forget.

Friday:
The woman asked me if I wanted to go to a friends house for dinner since she’s cooking. Would I ever decline her cooking? HELL NO! So of course I went! I hopped on the train, and got there in about 40 min or so, and when i walked in to his place it smelled pretty good! Dinner took forever to cook, but to summarize this is what dinner consisted of!

Beef noodle soup, and wine for the drunkards.. (I have some iced tea somewhere…)

String Beans and ground pork (yummy) and DUMPLINGS!! I’m a devourer of dumplings!

And here it is all together in front of the fireplace, which was very nice and relaxing to listen to and watch, at least until he put in the duraflame!

Desert! and the Goose for the drunkards!

A very relaxing and pleasant Friday evening!

Saturday:
A very rude awakening. Not rude as in annoyance, but very bad news when me and the woman first woke up. One of our close family friends had passed away from his struggle with Leukemia. He was fighting as hard as he could, but his body would not keep up the fight. I still dont have the full details as it was very difficult to talk to anyone about it. As i write this now, i still have that empty feeling in my chest. He was a good man, friend and father, and now he is in a better place. My woman was and is still struggling very hard to accept the fact that he is gone. Death is difficult for everyone to handle, and we all deal with it in our own ways.

Sunday:
Still consoling my woman, as she was still very touchy on the subject. Although she was able to cook me lunch! Hopefully that helped her to ease her mind a bit. More noodle soup, but this time with dumplings and a different broth!

Here’s my neurotic woman pre-plating the dish, before she puts in the soup and noodles.

Here is the noodle soup in all of its glory! What the picture does not show is how deep the bowl actually is! its like a 3 inch deep bowl! Yummy Yummy noodles for me!

Afterward we had caught up on some Netflix, and hopefully it eased my woman’s mind a little, as her mind works in very mysterious ways, and anything will set her off.

Well thats my weekend in a nutshell. Now to face work, and the current problems in the office and as well as worrying about my woman and how she’s handling things during work.

a little late on posting, but i must share!

January 28th, 2010

A while back, right before Christmas 09 I had did a little shopping with the woman and her friends. We ended up getting dinner at a Japanese Ramen place! Ippudo NYC is one of the better places to get authentic ramen from. I confess that I am not so much the foodie connoisseur that I wish i was! I dont know the individual tastes and flavors, and my palate is not defined, but I know when food tastes good! My woman is much better at that describing taste thing, although maybe it was because I smoked… Anyways back to this story!

I’ve only been to 2 ramen places, unlike my woman who goes to all these places without me knowing it!!! (shame on her right!) Although my doctor might thank her for that! But Ippudo’s food was pretty damn good! I went there with the notion of only getting ramen, but the appetizers (minus the asparagus which i did not touch) were pretty awesome! I forget the names of what I ate considering its been over a month already! Ramen is probably one of the best things to eat on a cold day! Now here’s my descriptions of the dishes that I took pics of with my phone!

A rice burger?

The pork on a stick thing is another happy heart attack inducing dish, but probably worth it once in a lifetime.

The pork in the white bun (absolutely no pun intended here), that what Peking duck is usually put in, is simply AWESOME, but a bit pricey.. Hell it was expensive!! but totally worth it!!!

This should be the miso soup one that my woman ordered.

I think I had ordered the pork bone broth, which I think was better at the other place, but still up there on that great level.

If I had to rate this place, on a scale from 1 (bad) – 5 (GREAT!!) it would be something like
Wait time: 2 (it was shorter than we were told, but still more than 30 min)
Food Taste: 4 ( Appetizers I liked were 5, the rest of the meal was a solid 3.5)
Ambiance of restaurant: 4 (it was themed, and it was thought out at least)
Wait staff: (the girls should answer this one…)

Ok i think i should get back to paying attention to my conference call..
